MCC's Internship Program is designed to:
- Provide hands-on experience and education in the student's field of study.
- Offer the Intern the opportunity to learn finance, marketing and business development skills.
- Enable the intern to excel within our organization or alternate career paths after completing the program.
Intern Benefits
MCC's Internship Program offers real world experience and knowledge of the commercial finance industry, as well as exposure to many other industries. The Program provides inside exposure to the structure, operations, and decision processes within
our company and those we finance.
Intern Duties and Responsibilities
Some specific duties might include: managing outside vendor relationships; creating marketing materials; assisting with direct mail campaigns; preparing for meetings and presentations; loan packaging and underwriting analysis; loan closing
administration; corresponding with and attending meetings with prospects and clients; providing feedback and assistance on all business development activities; researching; creating research reports; and building strategic alliances with other companies
in various industries.
Educational Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, at the junior level or higher, preferably in an MBA Program. Undergraduate Internship positions are best suited for students majoring in Business Administration, Management,
Marketing or Finance.
Skills/Qualifications
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form is a critical component of the necessary skill set required from our Interns. Excellent communication and analytical skills are also imperative.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), the Internet, and email is absolutely necessary. The capacity to work autonomously and with a professional attitude is also an absolute must.
Time Commitment
The hours and length of the Internship Program will be structured to accommodate the Intern's schedule and study. Most students choose to work between 20 and 40 hours a week. Typical office hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday,
but can often fluctuate throughout the week.
Program Summary
The Intern will learn and be exposed to:
- Valuable inside information about how our company operates and is structured, as well as the same information on many of our client companies.
- General business procedures and strategies.
- Marketing, finance and business development skills.
- Business protocol and networking.
- Developing research projects and their application to overall business goals.
- Concrete understanding of how the small business finance industry works and future opportunities.
- A fast-paced, quickly growing, very entrepreneurial company with the inherent struggles and accomplishments.
