Excellent job, Chris. Very much on point within the small amount of time they allowed; however, I can see your calls doubling, starting now.
July 28th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Great job! You looked terrific and your message was perfectly clear. You can be a business anchor if lending does not work out!
July 28th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
Excellent interview Chris! Good for you! Mr P
July 28th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Chris, I thought you did a good job. But it made me realize that all the interviewer cares about is getting through the program. The fact that the government doesn"t get it didn"t mean anything to him. Hopefully someone was listening who can make a difference but my take is that the ball is still in your court and only if you and your industry get to the right members of the house and senate your words have already been lost.
July 28th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Congrats and Kudos on the Fox News Segment…!
July 28th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
Congrats on Fox spot.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:08 am
Nice interview on Fox, Chris. Skillful responding to the interviewers questions. Questions give you “permission” to pepper your answers with MCC-advantaged responses. It"s an important skill that most public speakers never learn.

How about the hvcc appraisal management companies screwing everything up and will lead to bigger problems.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:41 am
Great job Chris. I wish you would have mentioned Factors like your friends at LSQ Funding Group, L.C.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:51 am
Awesome! You "mopped it up", Chris. It is amazing so much 'money is left on the table' with the SBA but your strategy tip on using 'embedded equity' gives food for thought. You will be getting calls to tap into your brain on 'how to get' the use of the government money available!
July 29th, 2009 at 8:53 am
Great interview Chris, poised and articulate throughout, but especially that last stretch of your commentary, when Brian didn't interrupt, you just nailed it. Absolutely nailed it. Think anybody at SBA is listening? Howard Head is probably right, small business will have to take the message directly to the politicians and bureaucrats before we see material improvements. JFK, Development Advisors.

Good presentation and value.
Couple of suggestions as a media coach.
Little more energy in your voice.
Keep your hands down out of the shot. Distracting.
Congratulations!
July 29th, 2009 at 8:57 am
Chris, well put. I liked the line about $35,000.00 being a drop in the bucket. You hit the nail on the head. Great job!
July 29th, 2009 at 9:06 am
Chris,
It was very apparant you know far more than the interviewer and it showed the media is just interested in getting their advertising dollars and not real solutions or the interviewer would not of kept cutting you off. Keep up the great work. You will be the winner.

Hey Chris…I love your comments on TV, particularly your comment on "zombie banks"…
I wish you guys did gas stations and convenience stores. I've got the loss ratios for the past seven years by the SBA… the chargeoff rate for C & G is .092%… bottom 25%of all business classes… lots of faith promoting rumors about C & G that just ain't so!
By the way, how does one indicate their displeasure with the 504 refi program? It's very much "much ado about nothing"
July 29th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Chris Great Job on Fox Business News….I think you need to go sit down with our President
July 29th, 2009 at 9:32 am
Very nice job Chris. I wish you would have mentioned Factors like your friends at LSQ Funding Group, L.C.
July 29th, 2009 at 9:33 am
You looked good, sounded good.
I particularly liked the attack on the administration's
NOT contacting people actually DOING business
for their ideas.
This "NIH" syndrome is occurring all over the
country and 'pols' are messing things up even more.
Who loses? Everyone.
Keep it up Chris.
July 29th, 2009 at 9:34 am
Hi Chris,
Good job, Chris!! You looked good. You sounded good. Your points were right on. You need just a bit more time to be able to expand your thought line.

Thanks Chris! Congrats!
July 29th, 2009 at 9:35 am
Great job on your second Fox interview.
This topic applied to me. One of your employees called me back from the voice mail i left for you and thought that because the 504 was limited to commercial projects, that I would not be able to get funding for a condo development project. If the rules change, let me know and we would pursue a $5M 504 loan.
July 29th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
You must be proud!
July 29th, 2009 at 2:38 pm
You know I just have to tell you as a fellow mortgage professional how proud I am to know you. You have taken a negative situation and turned it into a positive. I enjoyed my meeting with your Chicago team several months ago and WHENEVER I have the opportunity to do another commercial deal it is yours all the way. You are a marketing entrepreneur extraordinaire!
July 29th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Its kind of surreal talking to you in the office one hour then seeing you on a national broadcast the next. I think you did great ! Did you notice he said "Mercantile Commercial" instead of capital, I still do it myself. Good point about how the TARP bill hasn't been utilized yet.
can't wait til the next one !
July 29th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
Truly a professional presentation. You were clear and effective in conveying the message. I simply hope that your thoughts reach the ears of those in government and we see some changes soon.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:07 am
Chris, nice Fox appearance
July 30th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
GOOD JOB! That is exactly what we needed to do. I do hope that the SBA and government will see the value of the SBA 504 program as we try to get the economy back on track.
July 30th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
Nice job! Keep up the great work.
Felicidades, Ricardo

Nice interview. However the hypothetical start-up retail store in the mall will be a tough loan for you or anyone to fulfill due to projected cash flow and limited collateral. It certainly is not within the SBA 504 loan. That brings me to franchise lending, which can vary from hotels, daycare, or fast food. But remember that much of the franchise market is fast food within retail strip centers. Within SBA lending, these are typically inexperienced, retail start-ups, with limited equity, and no secondary source of income.
They only qualify for SBA 7A loans and I do not see community banks picking up this shortfall that was not just limited to big SBA lenders such as Banco or CIT. Rather, GE was a big player in this as well, until they pulled out during late 2007.
